One Week and two days old

Well, I can hardly believe how fast the time goes! Gabby is over a week old already. We are having so much fun with her. She is such a blessing! We are adjusting pretty well to having two kids. I ventured out on my own yesterday for the first time with both girls. It went really well! I went to work to visit my co-workers and then went grocery shopping. Right now it seems pretty easy because Gabby sleeps all the time and Megan is used to going grocery shopping with me. I think it will become more difficult as Gabby gets older and more mobile. Megan just loves Gabby to pieces. She is always asking it she can hold her and she loves to hug and kiss her. I hope she always loves her this much!!

We went to the doctor's on Tuesday for Gabby's one week visit. She has surpassed her birth weight and it now 7lbs 13 oz. The doctor said she is doing really well!! She is usually up twice at night for feedings. But, last night she stayed awake after the feeding and was so noisy making grunting noises. I finally moved her to her bedroom at about 4:00am. I think I will put her in her own room from now on. Megs is sleeping a little better these days. I only had to go see her once last night for a few minutes and give her a hug. I usually try to have a little nap in the afternoon when Megan sleeps. I am recovering much faster from this birth than from Megs. It doesn't even hurt to sit on hard surfaces this time!!

We have been so blessed by our friends and family! We have had so many meals provided for us. And a very special thank you to our moms who come over and help with the girls and clean our house. We love you!! I have hardly had to cook any meals in the last week. We are so grateful to all of you.

Little "ishta"

Megan is just keeping an eye on gabbers here.
Another Closeup of our new sweetie, just so you can all get a good look at how gorgeous she is.

Megan is proud to hold her little sister (ishta). Megan really does love Gabrielle. She kept asking to hold her, so we let her today. She was in her glory for about 1/2 a minute, then she was done. She wanted Gabrielle to go "down" off the couch so that she could play with her. It's really sweet to watch them interact.

Wir haben ein neues Baby!!!

Wir sind also aufgeregt! Baby Gabrielle wurde bei 7:50 Dienstag am April 17. getragen. Sorry, I found a german translating gadget online and couldn't resist. We are so excited! Baby Gabrielle was born at 7:50 on Tuesday the 17th of April. She was 7lbs 8ounces and is healthy and happy. She is a very quiet and content baby, and has slept well through her first night. Tanya is up and around the house and is feeling pretty good. She started having contractions at about 10:00 on monday night, and we went to the hospital at about 1:00 tuesday morning. They were able to leave the hospital today (wednesday). Megan loves Gabby and likes to hug and kiss her. She also likes to put blankets over babies face.

The Doctor and nurses were fantastic, and the whole experience was very good.

Due In 5 Days

I can hardly believe it, but this baby is due in 5 days. Where has the time gone?? I wake up every morning now wondering if this is going to be the day!! When I was at the doctor's this past week, she told me I am 1 cm dilated and she "stripped my membranes", hoping to get things going. I had that done twice with Megan and I'm not sure it did anything. So far nothing seems different since I had that done. My doctor is on-call for our clinic this weekend, so I think she wants me to have it sometime this weekend.
The weather for the past couple of days has been absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I think yesterday was something like 24 degrees. We spent most of the day outside. Jeff has been digging up grass around our cedars in the backyard to put in drip irrigation. He was digging for about 7 hours straight for 2 days. He was totally exhausted. I felt bad, because I could not help him with it. He made 2 loads to the dump. Megan just loves to be outside in the fresh air. We have Molly again because Jeff's parents are in Portland visiting his brother, Eric. Megan just loves to have Molly around to play with!!
Megan helping daddy with yard work!

We went to church this morning and had a great Easter service. I just love some of the old hymns we sang!! I am just overwhelmed by Jesus' love and amazing sacrifice for us on that cross. And today is so awesome because he arose and we have victory in him. What amazing LOVE!!

Today we are going to have an Easter egg hunt for Megs. But, of course she does not eat chocolate or candy, so we bought her some plastic eggs that have Play-doh in them. She loves Play-doh!! We are going to hid them in the backyard and she can collect them. We'll be sure to take some pictures. My mom and dad are coming over tonight for Easter dinner and for my dad's birthday. My due date is actually my dad's birthday and he is very excited about that! I have made a ham in the crockpot, salad, potatoes and a cake.

I will keep you all posted as to the baby news!! Bye for now.
