Kick 'n Run

Meggie started her very first soccer lessons yesterday...it's called Kick 'n Run. She has so much fun and loved running around with the other kids. Her good friend is also on her team and they play so nicely together! It was really hot yesterday and she got some very rosy cheeky (I wonder where she gets that from:) Jeff and I sat on the side in our lawn chairs, while the kids were out in the hot sun. They didn't seem to mind! Megan pretty much ran for 45 minutes and she had a really good sleep last night. She has soccer every Tuesday and Thursday for the next month. I'm such a proud soccer mom!!

I bought her little soccer shorts and soccer socks...so cute, oh and pink cleats!!!
We had a pretty uneventful weekend. Friday night we had some friends over who we haven't seen in a while and it was good to catch up! On Saturday Jeff worked in the backyard...we are making a pea gravel area to put the playground in, so that we don't have to mow the grass around it. Jeff had to first move the underground sprinklers. Next he will have to put down landscape paper and the wood for around the playground. There are always projects going on around here:)Sunday we went to church and had lunch at church, then came home for nap time and then went to Jeff's parents place for dinner. All in all, it was a good weekend!Today, the girls and I met a bunch of our friends at the park and went for a walk and then played at the park. I think we were there for about 3 hours this morning. It was such a beautiful day and felt good to be outside:)Cuddles with daddy...
Gabby has finally figured out to stand/sit up in her crib!! Now it's a little frustrating because she gets up and hasn't figured out how to get down. So she stands at her crib and just cries or whines until we come in and lie her down again. Sometimes, at nap time I have to go in there a dozen times!!!! She is such a busy little girl. She can climb up our entire flight of stairs now without any help. The other day I was downstairs doing some laundry and the girls were playing in the playroom. Next thing I know when I run upstairs, is Gabby is already at the top!! She isn't walking yet, but she is close. She did take a few steps last week, but of course when we tried to video tape her doing it, she wouldn't do it:(Look at all her curls!!!

I think that's all for today...I hope you all have a great week!!

The Wedding...and so much more!

I know it's been a while since I last wrote a post, but we have been away for almost a week...and now I have lots of things to share! We left last Wednesday morning and arrived in Seattle just before dinner time. The girls did so great traveling in the car! They really impressed me:) We just hung out at Loren and Alicia's place and had dinner and then put the kids to bed. Loren and Alicia have such a cute little house and in such a nice area! There were lots of parks close by, so Meggie was in heaven:)Loren and Alicia's great little neighbourhood! We got up the next morning and were on our way to Portland. It was another day of being in the car and again the girls did great! We got to the hotel around 2pm and settled in. Jeff went out with his brothers to go to Eric's bachelor party. They went bowling and just hung out. I hung out in Jassie's room and we just chatted. I expected Jeff to get home late from the bachelor party, but around 11:30pm after I was fast asleep...I heard a knock at the door. I looked out and saw that it was Jassie. She said that Jeff had called her and said he was going to stay the night at Eric's place, but he wanted me to know so that I wouldn't worry. I was so glad Jas came and told me! The next day we did a little bit of shopping and I was so excited to go to Target and Old Navy!!
On Friday we had the dress rehearsal and dinner. It was all at the church and that was really handy because I just put Gabby down for her nap in the nursery at the church and she did great and slept! Megan did so great at the dress rehearsal going down the aisle with the other kids. The weather was so hot all weekend...really, really hot!!! The one day it hit 38 degrees!!!
Watching cartoons at the hotel!

We stayed in the same hotel with all the other people from home...so fun!! The hotel served breakfast every morning in the lobby and so we had breakfast every day with lots of our friends and family. The morning of the wedding I managed to go do some shopping without the kids...which is so much faster!! I got a really cute new bathing suit, which I am happy about because I hate bathing suit shopping. The beautiful bride!!These were all the kids in the wedding...they all did a great job!!

The wedding pictures were taken before the wedding and they were taken outside...in the HOT weather! Everyone looked so nice...especially Traci!! She looked absolutely beautiful and I am so glad that I have a new sister. The wedding was so beautiful and special. I did miss some of the ceremony because Gabby was talking so loud I had to take her out:( The reception was great as well...really good food and lots of fun! Eric and Traci are just such awesome people and their love was so evident on their special day. We love you guys lots! The happy couple!!
I must say that my husband looked so great in his tux...still the best looking guy I know!Meggie was exhausted by the end of the day:)

We went to a brunch on Sunday morning before we left to go back to Seattle. It was nice to spend a little more time with Eric and Traci and her family as well! We headed back to Seattle and stayed there until Tuesday. On Monday we went to the Seattle Zoo...which is amazing!! It was so big, we didn't get to see everything. I guess we will have to go back again to see the rest of it. Megan was very interested in everything...she said her favorite was seeing the elephants:) It really was a fun day. It was so nice that Loren and Alicia were both able to come with us!We left Seattle Tuesday morning and got home around 4pm. It was another long day of traveling and the girls were getting a little fussy towards the end. Megan just wanted to get out of her car seat and Gabby was refusing to nap:( Anyways, we are home now and are getting back into our routine again. Both girls slept 12 hours straight last night:) It was really fun to go away and it's always great to be home again. Megan said yesterday that she wanted to go home because she missed her playroom...so cute!!I know this is getting long, so I will end it now!

Enjoying Spring:)

I know it's been a little while since I've updated this...but we've just been busy! I can't even remember what has all happened in the last week or so, but I will try. Oh, and I would love it if you all would comment on my blog more often, just so I know that people actually read this:)The weekend before last I went to Jeff's cousin's bridal shower on the Friday night. I saw a girl there who had a really nice haircut that I liked. Her hair was similar to mine in it was naturally curly and kind of coarse...anyways, I went and talked to her after the shower and got a good look at her hair. Then the next day I went out and cut mine, just like hers!! I really like it, it just takes some getting used to because it is so much shorter. I find that I actually take the time to do it now instead of just putting it in a pony or putting a hat on! Oh, and I got bangs and I love them.
Then last weekend, Jeff and I went on a date!! Jeff's mom came over to watch the girls and we were just going to go have a nice dinner together. Every restaurant we went to had a 45 min or longer wait and we didn't want to wait that long. We ended up driving around town and walking around downtown before we ended up at Red Robin. It was nice just to be the two of us again!

Gabby had her shots last week and she did really well. I couldn't believe they put all 4 shots in her little arms:( She cried pretty hard while she got the needles, but right after it was done she was happy again. She is such a good little girl! Megan was very helpful too, she would try to distract Gabby with toys to make her happy. So sweet:)Jeff's brother, Curt, is home now for a little while as he just graduated from law school in Winnipeg!! He has a little bit of schooling left to do this summer in Victoria. It's great having him back again and Megs and Gabby love playing with their uncle!

And this past Sunday Aunty Kirsten came out for a visit!! We always love having her here and just hanging out. It was Kirsten's birthday a few days before she came out here, so we had a little birthday cake for her! My parents also joined us for dinner that night to celebrate. We went to Jeff's baseball game last night and they needed 4 girls to start the game and they only had 3 because one girl was caught in traffic...so I had to play back catcher for one innings. Thank goodness it was only one inning, I really didn't want to hit. Baseball is really not my sport:(Here's Jeff in action:)Kirsten, the girls and I went to the park and for a walk on Monday afternoon and it was beautiful outside. And yesterday Kirsten and I spent the whole afternoon in the backyard just hanging out and relaxing. Kirsten is just the best guest to have...she loves to play with and entertain the kids and she is SO easy going. I always love the visits we have:) And of course we talk, talk, talk...I just so enjoy her company and wished she lived closer so we could hang out more often.Today I went for a walk on the greenway with some of my friends and it was again another beautiful warm spring day. I just love the sunshine! Tomorrow we are having dinner with Jeff's grandparents and then Friday night Jassie and I are getting pedicures done. I've never had one before so I looking forward to it! And we leave one week from today for Portland...I really looking forward to a little vacation:)
