Going on vacation!

Not too much new around here these days! We are pretty excited because on Wednesday we have our 20 week ultrasound and we are going to find out what we are having!! I am not looking forward to drinking all the water that they require you to drink before the ultrasound...but it will be worth it:)

We have not taken many pictures lately because our camera battery was dead. So, we have no pictures from this weekend:( I have tried to upload some other pictures now and the computer won't let me...sorry, all you get today is my ramblings!!!

We celebrated two birthdays in our families this weekend. My sister and her family stopped by on their way to Saskatchewan (they are moving there) on Friday. It was my nephew, Dylan's birthday and we had a nice dinner and yummy ice cream cake! Then on Saturday we celebrated Curt's birthday with his family. We had another great dinner there! We tried putting the girls down to bed at Jeff's parents house for the first time. I put them down around 7:30pm and Megan probably fell asleep around 8:30pm and Gabby just before 9pm!!! Needless to say, both girls were incredibly tired and a little cranky the next day.

We have been having lots of playdates lately. We meet with 2 other moms and their kids every Tuesday morning. The kids have a blast and it keeps us mom's sane! We are also starting a women's bible study group on Friday mornings for mom's to get together and have a little study and the kids can play and the babies can sleep!

Jeff, the girls and I are headed to Seattle on Saturday for a long weekend to hang out with Loren and Alicia. We are SO excited for a little vacation! I wanted to go before the weather got to bad and before we have a 3rd child!! It will be the first trip with the new mini-van...it will be so nice to have the space. Eric and Traci are coming up to Seattle also to see us! We are going to spend Saturday and Sunday with them and we are SO thrilled that they are making the trip for us. The girls will be so excited to see their aunties and uncles all at once!! I am hoping to get Megan a new halloween costume from Old Navy while we are there, since she has been a monkey for the last 2 years, it's time for something new.

I am feeling pretty good these days. I'm still hungry all the time, but what's new!! I don't know if I updated my news about the whole 5th disease and me being pregnant thing. Anyways, my doctor tested my blood to see if I was immune to 5th disease and I am not. So I had more blood work done last week and it's a 2 part blood test and I have to go again in 14 days for the rest. I'm trying not to worry too much about this, but I still think about it every so often. I think I will feel better about things once we have our ultrasound this week. They really can't do anything if I do have the virus, except to monitor the baby from here on.

The weather has been so nice for being the end of September. It still feels like summer during the afternoon...the mornings are still chilly. Jeff has been enjoying the hot tub a lot and he took both girls in yesterday for a little bit. Gabby loves the water and just loves to splash around and kick her legs. That little girl has no fear and she's always trying to wiggle out of Jeff's arms!! Because the weather was so nice yesterday, we went for a little walk and then to the park. The girls LOVE the park. It's so nice to have parks close by to walk to.

I will try to update this again after our ultrasound appointment!!! Bye for now.

Enjoying the end of summer...

Jeff has still been busy working on the hot tub project...although it is almost done now! He has been enjoying using the hot tub a lot and he took Megan in for the first time this past weekend. It was quite hot and so at first she just wanted her feet in, but she did slowly get in there and then she had a blast! She didn't want to get out. Jeff has been going in the hot tub the last few morning before going to work...at 6am!!! He's loving it. There are some evening I sure wish that I could go in:( Oh well, I'll have lots of time to enjoy it after the baby comes. We had a BBQ on Sunday night for some friends of ours that moved away. We had some very yummy BBQ'd salmon!! A lot of our friends have kids now and so we had a full house with 12 adults and 6 kids. We had lots of fun!Sweet baby Sarah...I love the little dipples on her knuckles! The girls are all over their colds now and I'm thankful for that. The cold lingered longer for me and I still have a bit of a cough...but I'm feeling so much better! It's not fun having a cold when your pregnant, because you can't take any medicine:( Gabby has started "talking" more the last few weeks and it's so cute. She says baby, hi, bye-bye, nigh-nigh, out and she says "please" and "thank you"(but they don't really sound like that sometimes). She tries really hard to say anything that we ask her to. It's such a fun stage!!
Megan fell asleep on the couch yesterday...this is quite rare, as she hardly ever naps anymore. I thought she looked so cute sleeping there:) Megan has been so cute about the baby in my belly lately. She loves to hug and kiss my tummy. She said the other day that God told her that it's a baby brother in my tummy. I guess we'll find out soon! She has been taking about God a lot lately. She asked me where God lives and I told her he is everywhere, we just can't see him. That was a little hard for her to understand! She loves to pray and I just love listening to her...it's so sweet!

I'm getting bigger and bigger every day. I am 18 weeks now...almost half way there. I can't believe it! I have been forgetting to take pregnancy pictures lately. I attempted to take a picture of myself today and I chopped my head off, but at least you can see my belly! We have our ultrasound in 2 weeks and we are really looking forward to that...we are going to find out what we are having. We didn't find out with either of the girls, but we want to this time.Jeff took the girls to the park yesterday after he got home from work. Gabby is such a little monkey at the playground. She loves to climb and then just zips down the slides...she has no fear! I stayed home to make dinner. It was such a treat for me to get dinner made without having to keep the girls busy. I have to say that Jeff is just such an amazing daddy to our girls! They both totally adore him. I love watching him play with them, it melts my heart.
And today is my beautiful sister-in-law Alicia's birthday!! Happy 31st birthday!! We wish we could be together with you to celebrate, but we will see you soon:)

Our Anniversary and more...

Tuesday was our 8th wedding anniversary!! It feels like that was forever ago...but at the same time not that long ago. We didn't do anything exciting for our anniversary because we all have colds in our family right now and just didn't feel great:( We did end up getting pizza, so at least I didn't have to make dinner and I was happy with that. I could not have married a better guy for me!! I feel very blessed to have Jeff as my husband and a daddy to our girls. He is such an amazing guy and I love him so deeply:)

Jeff has been hard at work this past weekend. We were given a hot tub from a friend of ours and he's making a deck area around the hot tub...it's going to look great! I, of course, will not be able to use the hot tub this winter, but Jeff will get to:( When I do get to use it, I'm going to love it, since I'm always cold. Here's a work in progress...We sold our car last week! It all happened so fast...Jeff advertised the car on Saturday night and the car sold on Monday. So, we insured the van the same day. I have to say that I love driving the van. I never thought I would say that, but it's so nice to have the space and the van drives really nice! Megs and Gabby love to ride in the van because they sit a little higher than the car and they can see outside better. We have been spending lots of time outside, while Jeff works on the hot tub area. It's been cooler weather the last little bit, but I like the change. The girls are learning to play together more and more. Gabby loves to hold on to Megan's shirt and they play "chase" around the yard. It's so cute to watch and they just laugh the whole time!!Over the long weekend, Gabby broke out with a rash on her cheeks. It wasn't too bad until Saturday after she woke up from her nap. Her cheeks were very red. So I took her to the walk-in-clinic and the doctor said she had 5th disease or "slapped-cheek syndrome". Anyways, she isn't bothered by the rash at all and she had no other symptoms. But, it's contagious to other children and it's usually most contagious 3 days prior to the rash breaking out:( But, so far Megan does not have it. The only other problem is, it's harmful to pregnant women because it can harm the baby if its before 20 weeks. Most adults are immune to this disease because we were infected as children as well. I am 16 weeks prego right now and my doctor is getting my blood tested to see if I'm immune...I'm really hoping so, then I don't need to worry! I would appreciate any of your prayers:)
Here's our little monkey getting into trouble!!!

Then on Monday, our whole family picked up colds. The girls are just about over it, but I am still feeling pretty yucky:( I wasn't able to sleep for a few nights because I had such a sore throat and was having trouble breathing...and I can't take any medications!!! Anyways, I think we are over the worse and I hope we are all better by the weekend.
