"I'm all done now mommy"

Today we had swimming lessons for Megan for the first time in about 7 months!! We have been talking about it for weeks, ever since I signed her up for the lessons. So, today we got there and she was really excited about it. The kiddie pool (warm pool) was drained because there was a leak in the liner and so we had to spend the whole lesson time (1/2 hour) in the "cold" pool. At first it seemed okay and then about 15 minutes in the lesson, Megan started crying and saying "I'm all done now mommy". I told her we had to stay and that we would go in the hot tub at the end of the lesson. Well, when we got to go in the hot tub she was happy as a clam!!! She just hates the cold water. Anyways, the said it would take about 2 weeks for the kiddie pool to get repaired, so now I have postponed her swimming lessons for 2 weeks and maybe she will be happier then:) My mom looked after Gabby while I took Meggie swimming and I think it worked out pretty good!! Thanks so much mom!!
And today we got our brand new double jogging stroller!! We were very excited about this. I ordered in online from Costco about 2 weeks ago and didn't know when it would come, but today it did. When we came home the box was sitting on the back deck. Megan wanted to get it out right away and she was thrilled!! She says "my go in there, Gabby go in there". Too cute!! So, of course we had to take it for a test drive this evening. We just walked about the block and this stroller is so great and very light. I'm so happy we got it!! You can tell the girls like it too!
This past weekend our friend was in a dirt biking accident and broke 2 bones in his leg and fractured his back:( He is in the hospital and will be there for about a week. He had surgery on his leg on Sunday and we went to visit him about an hour after he got out of surgery. He seemed okay, but was still pretty groggy from the medication. He will have to be in a back brace for about 10 weeks and can not work for 3 months. Please pray that he will fully recover and not have any permenant damage.

This past week I have been pulling out old clothes from Megan that will now fit Gabby. It's so fun putting all those cute clothes on her!! I can't believe that Megan used to fit in those clothes.

Meggie enjoying a homemade waffle and custard breakfast!!

Well, both the girls are sleeping now...I think!! At least the house is quiet. I think I will go to bed and read for a little while now. Megan has been waking up at least once at night for a while, she just wants to be wrapped up in her blanket and given a hug. That's fine, but I'm getting tired of getting up at night with her. I hope this ends soon:(
Good night!!

Our little angels!!

Another week has gone by and I can't say we have done anything to exciting! But, I will post about the everyday things(hopefully some of you still enjoy reading about that!!).

Last Sunday was our church kick-off for the "new year". It was held at waterfront park instead of at the church. The weather was really warm and it was nice to be outside. There were tons of people there! Megan was happy to run around and roll down the hill. Gabby was a little fussy...I think she was tired and the loud noise was distracting for her. Jeff took her for a little walk and managed to get her to sleep. Later that afternoon we had some friends over for a BBQ. We just hung out in the backyard and visited. Meggie and Kye had a bath together at the end of the evening and they both loved it!! They are such good little buddies!! This past Sunday at church Jeff took Megan to her "class" and he had a little talk with her outside the room and talked about her staying in class while mommy and daddy go to church. She said "okay" and Jeff left her and walked down the aisle and after about 15 seconds she was screaming for us:( Jeff then told her she could go back to class or come to church with us and she decided to come to church with us. I hope one day she will go to class by herself. She really loves it there, she just wants us there too. I think we have to let it be her decision and when she is ready she will go...here's to hoping!!
Jeff's dad came home from Sask. this past week and we got to see lots of pictures from his visit there. It seemed like he had a good time there. My parents were gone last week as well, they went to visit Loren and Alicia in California...one last time before they move!! They had a great time with them. Megan and I went to pick mom and dad up from the airport and Meggie wanted to see the "BIG" airplanes, unfortunately there were none there that we could see at the time. We will have to take her on one sometime, she will absolutely love it!I put Gabby in the exersaucer for the first time this week and she loves it! I think she just likes to be upright instead of lying down all the time. Meggie is such a good big sister and always brings Gabby toys to play with, she also likes to spin Gabby around:) We went to mission creek park on Friday to watch the Kokanee spawn...but I think it was a little early, because we only saw like 2 fish:( We will try to go again this week and hopefully we will see more. Megan has more fun throwing rocks off the bridge anyways. Although I told her she should probably not throw rocks in the creek while the fish are there because she could hurt them. Gabby is 5 months old now. I just can't believe it! She is so much fun...she is such a happy and smiley little girl! She is really filling out now, I'm not sure what she weighs now, but probably around 15 lbs. She's still sleeping great! She still has 3 naps in the day and sleeps about 11-12 hours at night. I couldn't ask for a better baby! And when she wakes up she just "talks" in her crib until we come get her. When we go in to see her she gets SO excited and gives us big smiles!!

The weather is starting to get colder here now. This morning was so cold I was tempted to turn on the furnace, but I think September is a little early for that. I realized that I have very little clothes for Megan now that she is growing so much. We went to Value Village the other day and I bought her some "new to us" clothes for colder weather. I got her a sweater and pants and I got Gabby some cute overalls. Everything was $4 each...good deal! And the clothes look like brand new. I will definitely be shopping there more often. Daddy and his girls!! So cute!!

Now when we tell Megan we love her she says "I love you too". It just melts my heart. And the other morning she was lying in bed with me and she put her hands on my cheeks and said "mommy your beautiful". Things like that make being a mommy the best thing!! I absolutely love and adore these little girls God has blessed us with!

The other day Megan started to sing the ABC song. I sing is quite often to her, but I didn't know she could sing the whole thing by herself. She picks up on everything that we say and she doesn't forget a thing!!

I need to go make some dinner now, but I want to wish aunty Alicia a very happy 30th birthday(yesterday)!! We can't wait to see you guys again! Bye for now.

A great week!!

Last Sunday, September 2nd, was our 7th wedding anniversay!
Wow, how time flies! We hadn't really planned on doing much because we were just out the weekend before for my birthday...that's what happens when your birthday and anniversary are only a week apart:( But, on Sunday morning Jeff suggested we go out for breakfast instead of going to church. We went to the Harvest golf course for breakfast and it is so beautiful there. We did take the girls, since it was kind of a last minute decision and they were awesome!! Megan sat at the table so nicely the whole time! Afterwards we took some pictures because the scenery is so nice there and then we went for a drive and looked at houses (no, we are not looking for another house...we just like to dream!). I feel very blessed to have Jeff as my husband and best friend and he is an amazing daddy to our girls! I love just watching him with them...and they absolutely adore him too!! Thank you Jeff for all that you are and I love you so very much! I look forward to the rest of our lives together!!
Meggie was quite excited about her cinnamon bun!!

On Monday we had went to a salmon BBQ at our friends house. Caleb and Steve had gone on a fishing trip and they both caught huge salmons. One was 41 lbs and the other 25 lbs. We they had lots of fish to share!! It was nice to see lots of our friends again. We had the girls with us and they were the center of attention there.

The school by our house just recently built a new playground. It just opened this week, just in time for school to start. We had to try it out. Megan loves it and she climb up it all by herself and she especially loves the "bridge" you can walk across. I took the girls for a walk this week and we had to stop by the playground again...Megan insisted! I am finding it hard on my back to carry Gabby in the snugli now since she is quite heavy, so I put both girls in our one stroller and went for a walk. It didn't last very long because Gabby was "kicking" Megan in the back and she didn't like that:( So I think tonight Jeff and I will go out and check out some double jogging strollers. I really love to walk with them and I know I would use it alot.
Gabby had her four month shots on Wednesday and she did awesome! She hardly even cried during them and was totally fine afterwards! She was a little fussy later in the day, but now she is back to normal. She weighed 15 lbs with her clothes on today and was 25 inches long. Gabby has this new thing where she fits her whole fist in her mouth!! The health nurse thought this was quite funny, and couldn't believe she fits the whole thing in! I guess she has a big mouth:)
We took my parents to the airport that same day and they were off to California to visit my brother and sister-in-law. Meggie was pretty impressed by all the "big" airplanes. She has only been on one airplane and she was not even one year old, so I don't think she remembers it. Then after the airport we went out to Winfield to see mom V at her dental office. When ever we brush Megan's teeth we talk about "ama" at the dental office and then she sits still for a few minutes. Anyways, I thought it would be good for her to have a visit there. The staff were so nice to us and the dentist even counted Meggie's teeth for her!! Then "ama" took us out for lunch. It was a great day!! And of course I forgot to bring my camera and I really wanted to get pictures of her at her first dentist appointment..oh well:(
The girls love to have baths together!!

Last night I went out for dinner with a friend of mine from work and we had a nice visit! It's really nice for me to get out of the house once in a while without the kids! I was only gone for about 2 hours because Gabby will still not take a bottle, so I had to come home to feed her. And tonight mom V is coming over to watch the girls and Jeff and I are going out for a little date (more like fast food and some errands, but that's okay!). Should be fun!
