Odds and Ends

Last weekend, Jeff played a game of baseball for another team. Megan gets so excited when daddy plays baseball!! She loves to watch his games. We can't often go to his games because they are too late. After the game we ran some errands and went to Home Depot and we ran into our friends there. Megan and Tyler were so cute together and they even had a little kiss good-bye!!
We bathed Megs and Gabby together for the first time this week and they loved it!! Gabby hates to come out of the bath because it is cold. I think we will start bathing them together more often because it is more convenient and they have fun!!

Gabby is doing so well sleeping these days!! I am a very happy mommy!! The last 3 nights she has gone to sleep around 9-9:30 and she wakes up about 5:30am for a feed and back to sleep until 8:30am. Only having to get up once is so great for me. She is getting bigger now and I think her little tummy can hold more milk!! She is "talking" and "cooing" so much these days. It is really cute and we gets lots of smiles out of her. I think we have come up with a new nickname for her. Megan always says "milos" when she wants Gabby to smile(because she can not say words that start with "s"). So yesterday Jeff said we should call Gabby "milo". We think its cute!

Yesterday my mom and I went shopping and Gabby was in her stroller and Megan walked the whole time. She is such a good little shopper!! I am anxious to buy some new clothes, but I am not quite back to my pre-pregnancy weight. So I will wait a little longer:( Then my mom packed a picnic lunch and we went to the park. Megan has so much fun at the park. She is always asking for underducks on the swings!! She would stay on the swings all day long if we let her.

This weekend Jeff has four days off in a row. So it will be nice to have him around!! We have Jeff's dad's retirement party on Sunday. On Saturday we are having some friends over for dinner. Should be fun!!

What a blessing...

We have had a fantastic week! My dear cousin and friend Kirsten came to visit us from Tuesday to Friday. We had such a great time, just chatting and catching up!! We didn't do anything exciting, but it was just good to be together. She is such a blessing to me and a very special aunty to Megs and Gabby. Kirsten, I really appreciate your friendship and we love you very much!!

We always have to go to Walmart when we are together!!

Last time Kirsten was here Megan was still a little scared of her, but this visit Megan absolutely loved her!!! Megan can't stop talking about her now. Kirsten is such a good aunty, she changed lots of poopy diapers and even watched the girls while I went to visit my friend in the hospital!! I wish Kirsten could stay with us all the time, she could be our nanny!! We had really nice weather while she was here, so we were outside alot. We went to the beach one day with my mom and Megan loved it! She just sat on a towel and played with her beach toys. She didn't want to go in the water because it was cold.

Last week my Grandma came out for a few days and got to meet Gabby for the first time. It was really nice to be able to visit again with her since it had been awhile. Megan has been asking for great-grandma lately!! It's really cute. Also, last week we had a little playdate with some friends. It was so good to hang out with them again. Our little girls love to play together and our little babies are only 10 days apart!!
This past Monday our dear friends had their second baby, another little boy!! We are so happy for them. The experience was a little traumatic, but everything is okay now. Maybe one day our little girls will marry their little boys!!For father's day last weekend, Jeff and his brother went fishing with their dad on Saturday morning. The boys didn't catch anything, but I think dad caught a few. They had a good time together! Then on Sunday we took my parents out for a little treat. We have two awesome dads who love and support us and we are so thankful for them!! And I am totally blessed to have a wonderful daddy for our little girls. Jeff, I couldn't ask for a better daddy for Megan and Gabby. Thank you for being you and we love you so much!!

Gabby and I had our doctor's appointments this week. Gabby is now 11 lbs 12 oz and is 22.5 inches long. She is growing really well!! She is not quite as big as Megan was at this age. I looked at Megan's baby book and she was almost 13 lbs at 6 weeks!! Then Gabby had her 2 month shots on Wednesday and she did pretty good, I thought she would cry more. She did cry when the nurse put the needles in, but when it was done she was fine.
Sorry for the long post, but I had lots to catch up on!!

More Birthday Parties...

Megan's birthday parties seem to keep coming!! She had her kids birthday party last weekend and then on Wednesday night great grandma and grandpa came over for some birthday cake and then this past Saturday night we had all the grandparents and great grandparents over for some more cake!! Megan loved being the center of attention. She got lots of great gifts, including lots of Dora stuff. Boy that girl is obsessed with Dora!! She got Dora lighted shoes, Dora backpack, Dora sippy cup, Dora theater set, Dora writing pad, the list goes on...
Megs had some difficulty blowing out her candle! (I know I should have put 2 candles on the cake, but I forgot!) But, she sure enjoyed eating the cake!

On Sunday we went to ama and papa's house for a little while. Ama wanted to take Meggie for a walk in her beautiful flower garden. Megan loved it!! She also loves Molly the puppy dog and wanted her to come on the garden walk also.

We received matching dresses for the girls for a gift from some family friends and here are the girls all dressed up and ready for church!! Megan did not want to smile for the pictures.
Here's a big smile from our little sweetheart. She is smiling more and more these days!! Especially when she first wakes up in the morning.

Megan and daddy having fun and goofing around!!
Sorry, I don't know how to turn the pictures, but I had to post this picture of Megs!! We were running errands on Saturday and Jeff had to run into the bank for a few minutes and I stayed in the car with the girls. Megan wanted to go with daddy and so when he left she cried!! And I'm such a mean mommy, but I couldn't resist taking this picture!! She had her sunglasses on, as you can tell, and she always puts them on upside down, it is really cute. Jeff thinks she looks like Elton John in this picture!

Happy Birthday Meggie!!

Wow, my little girl is 2 years old today!! I can't believe how fast the time goes by. Megan you are such and blessing and a joy to have. Your daddy and I love you so much and can't imagine life without you. The last two years have been so great and we look forward to years to come. Today I was thinking about the day you were born and it is still so fresh in my mind. We were so excited to meet you and I was thrilled you were a girl!!
Megan you have grown so much in the last year. This time last year you weren't even walking yet...now you want to run all the time. You are very loving and affectionate. You are always asking for hugs and kisses and you especially like hugging and kissing your new little sister. You are talking so much these days and we love watching you personality develop. Sometimes you are strong willed and stubborn...I don't know where you get that from!! But you are SO worth it. You are just a blessing to us.
Things I love about Meggie:
1) I love your smile and silly laugh
2) I love your crazy hair in the mornings
3) I love how you always want to give us hugs and kisses
4) I love that you love you new little sister
5) I love how you talk to people on the phone
6) I love your deep voice
7) I love you caring spirit
8) I love how you make coffee and juice for us in your play kitchen
9) I love watching you play with your daddy
10) I love being your mommy
You have so many friends and family members who love you! You are even starting to talk on the phone to people and have a little conversation. It's the cutest thing!
So yesterday we had a little birthday party for Megan and her friends. It was really cute to watch the kids, they all played very nicely in the backyard and then we had a BBQ and birthday cake. Oh, the cake turned out okay. It tasted really good, but I would have liked it to look a little better. Jeff had a little fishing game for the kids to play and then they got prizes, the kids loved it!

Megan, may you continue to grow into the person God created you to be! We love you so much.

Summer Fun

The weather has been so nice here lately we are spending a lot of time outside. Megan loves to be outside and she seems to nap so much better when she is worn out from playing outside...which is fine with me!! We have been going to the park alot lately too and now whenever we drive by the park she wants to stop.

Tomorrow we are having a little birthday party for Megan and 3 of her boy friends. They are all born within one month of each other so we decided to combine the parties. The weather is still supposed to be nice so I think we will have the party on the deck and in the backyard. I can't believe Megan is turning 2 already, the time just flies by. She is talking so much these days and now is starting to put words together. She repeats everything that we say!
My parents are away on Vancouver Island this weekend and so they came over on Thursday night to see the girls. They gave Megan her birthday present early and it is a Dora tricicle. Dad and Jeff put the bike together and Megan would not go near it. She was afraid to sit on it! The next morning we went on the deck to play and she sat on it right away. She can't reach the pedals yet, but she pushes it around. She has been waking up early lately at about 6:30am and I'm not really into that. The one morning she got up and pushed a chair upto the kitchen window and was pointing and talking about her new bike. It was really cute!

Gabby is doing well and growing...she now has some chub on her little legs! She is quite fussy in the evenings and the other day she was crying so much I couldn't calm her down and then I went outside and swong on the swing with her and she totally calmed down. It was amazing!! I will definitely try that again. She smiles more and more everyday and now tries to "talk" to us. This newborn stage is so short!!

We are going to our friends house for dinner tonight and hopefully my friend will be able to streak my hair for me. It has been awhile since I had that done and my hair is so dark right now. I would like to lighten it up for summer!!

I will post pictures of Megan's party soon and I am attempting to make a caterpillar cake I saw on the internet. These things often don't work out for me, but we will see!
