A great weekend...

I know it's a little late now, but we had a great Easter weekend! Megan had so much fun looking for eggs on her easter egg hunts. Yes, she had 3 easter eggs hunts...so crazy for a 2 1/2 year old! But, of course Jeff and I have been enjoying some of her chocolate! She had one with my parents, one at church and one with Jeff's parents:) She loved it...On Good Friday, the Watoto children's choir was at our church and I took Meg's with me. I went last year and really enjoyed it and I thought this year, she would enjoy it too. She was very interested by the whole thing...she sat very still and loved to listen to the music. She was very tired, but she still had fun. My parents took in some of the kids from the choir for the night and we had breakfast with them and my parents in the morning. Megan had an easter egg hunt with these 3 little girls! They were SO excited. We spent a lot of the weekend with Jeff's family. Eric and Traci were in town for the weekend, and it was so great to see them again. We had a bridal shower for Traci on Saturday afternoon and it was lots of fun. We made wedding invitations on Friday afternoon and even Jeff, Eric and dad helped! I can't believe their wedding is less than 2 months away...that will go by so fast! Here is Meg's modeling her flower girl dress for the wedding!! So cute!Gabby has moved to her big girl car seat now. She seems to really like it! She is still facing backwards, but she can see Megan better now. It's really cute, because they pass toys back and forth now. It makes me a little sad, only because, my baby is growing up:(We went over to some family friends house on Monday for dinner. Rob and Leanne and their kids were in town for a few days and we had a nice visit with them. Megan had lots of fun playing with their girls. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, thanks to Mrs. Born!!I couldn't believe it, but yesterday we had a bunch of snow!! WHAT...this is supposed to be spring. I am not interested in snow anymore:( It was like a blizzard at our house for a few hours,
but today it has all melted. It has still been cold here though, even when the sun is shining. I am looking forward to more spring like weather, really soon!I hope you all have a great weekend:)

Where has the time gone!

This past Monday, Gabby turned 11 months old!! Wow...where does the time go. I can't believe she is almost a year old. I think I might cry on her birthday:( She is all better now. She had the fever for 4 days and then a rash appeared and so she had the infant measles. Megan had them as well when she was a baby and it was exactly the same. Gabby was so cranky and just wanted to be held the whole time she has the fever, but I am so thankful that she is back to her happy little self!

This picture is kind of blurry, but her smile is just so cute!!We have been getting outside a lot these days, since the weather has been so nice! But, this morning I woke up and opened the curtains and it was SNOWING!! I couldn't believe it. It only snowed for about an hour and then we had blue sky. I have gone for 3 walks this week and it's felt great!I had my first soccer practice last night. It was chilly out and a little windy, so my lungs hurt a bit after all the running. It felt really good to get back into it! I am totally out of shape, but that will come with time. We just played a scrimmage game and got to meet all the other players on our team. I think it will be really fun!Eric and Traci are coming home tonight and we are so looking forward to seeing them again! Megan keeps talking about them and she is so excited that they are coming for a visit. We are having a little bridal shower for Traci on Saturday and I think it will be really fun! It will be nice for everyone to get to know her a little better. I can't believe their wedding is less than 2 months away!!
Megan has been a little more of a challenge for us these days. She does not want to listen very well to us and she has started talking back to us:( We are trying to nip that in the bud, so that it doesn't continue. A friend of mine told me that 3 year olds are more difficult than 2 year olds...so we shall see about that. Oh, and she hasn't been napping well again:( Last week, she napped every day and I was so excited and this week, she has only napped once. I guess my expectations are a little high.

Jeff took some interesting pictures last Sunday when the sun was shining in the kitchen window. His and the girls reflections in a cup of coffee!Jeff looks kind of scary in this picture! He just looks so serious...I told him he should have smiled.
I'm off to do some cleaning now! I hope you all have a blessed Easter:)

My sick baby:(

My baby has been sick for the last couple of days. Gabby just isn't herself when she is sick. She just has a fever and no other symptoms...but I see a little tooth trying to pop out:( So maybe that's the problem. My other suspicion was that she might have infant measles. Meggie had them when she was a baby and she just had a fever for 3-4 days and then a little rash. So, I guess we will wait and see. This week the weather has been so nice, although today it is rainy. But, I actually like the rain every once in a while. We had a playdate with some of Meggie's friends on Friday at the park. It was so nice to be out in the fresh air again. I love spring!! One of the mom's brought cupcakes for the kids and Meggie was in heaven:) That same day we decided to have a "picnic" out on the deck for lunch. I brought out Gabby's highchair and we all had a nice lunch outside!!I was able to take Megan to her "school" again this week and she loved it! My mom offered to take Gabby, so that Meg and I could go to school together. It was so fun for her and I to have some time together. She loves all the toys and stories at school. I forget how easy it is to do things with just one kid!!We have started going back to our church that we grew up in. We have been going there for about a month now. It totally feels like home:) It's so nice to be in a smaller church again, I really missed that. The church we have been going to for about 2 years now was a great church, but we did not feel connected there at all. We have lots of friends at our home church. We met a new family there last week and we had them over for dinner last night and we had a great time! I'm hoping and praying that the church continues to draw young families.
We picked up Jeff's parents from the airport this morning. They have been gone for about 3 1/2 weeks on a vacation in Indonesia. It sounds like they had a wonderful time...I'm looking forward to seeing lots of pictures! Meggie was so excited to see ama and papa dog again:)

I got a smoking deal on an electric fireplace this week!! I was pretty proud of myself:) We wanted to get an electric fireplace in the winter for our basement family room, but we didn't really want to spend the money. I was at Superstore this week with my mom and they had a pallet of about 10 fireplaces on display and they were marked down from $229.00 to $29.00...yeah, you read that right!! A savings of $200. Everyone knows that I love a great deal:) The manager at the store said he put them out and in about 10 minutes they were all gone!! I just happened to be there at the right time. We decided to put it upstairs for now, because we really don't have room downstairs. We put it in the living room and I think it looks great!!
We have a baby shower tonight at the church for Colleen and baby Sarah. She is getting so big now, every time I see her she looks chubbier!! I hope lots of people come out!! Derek is going to come over to our place to watch a movie with Jeff and have a "boys" night. Should be fun:)

Walks and Parks

Wow, another week has gone by and now it is March...I can hardly believe it! The weather has been so nice this week and we have gone on walks and to the park quite a bit. ***Warning...there are lots of pictures!**Gabby finished her swimming lessons last Tuesday. She just loved being in the water! I think I will try to take the girls every other week or so to the pool just for fun:)Playing in the backyard. Gabby loves to be pushed in the swing!
Daddy bought Megs, Gabby and I flowers this week. It was so sweet and they are my favorite...Gerbera daisies! Megan keeps asking to touch and hold her flower. She decided that the dark pink flower was hers, the light pink one was Gabby's and the orange one was mine. So cute!Jeff, the girls and I went on a walk today. It was a little chilly and windy, but so nice to get out in the fresh air. We went up quite a steep hill and Jeff and I made a deal...he had to push the stroller with both girls in it, up the hill if I would climb the full flight of stairs up the hill. I said okay, but he didn't think I would/could do the stairs...well I proved him wrong. I did the stairs no problem! It was a good work out and now I want to run up and down the stairs several times a week to get in shape for soccer. Soccer starts in less than 2 months and I am SO out of shape:(
Jeff took some really cool pictures of the girls this morning, when the sun was shining in the window!I hope you all enjoy the many pictures in this post! Have a great week!
