Flowers

Last Thursday we celebrated Jeff's birthday!! We got pizza and we just hung out at home. Megan had made him a special birthday card...she was really excited about that!! We also went to our friends house on Sunday night for another birthday dinner. The dinner was awesome and we had a great time together. We are so thankful for great friends!!

I don't know why Jeff looks so mad in this picture?!?!?

Jeff bought Meggie, Gabby and I each a flower this week. They are gerbera daisies...my favorite!! I thought it was so sweet that he got one for each of his girls. He's the best!! I tried to get some cute pictures with the girls and the flowers, but that's not so easy.

It was my mom's birthday on Tuesday. The girls and I and a bunch of my mom friends went out for lunch on Wednesday. It was lots of fun. We love you so much mom!!

We are still a little bit sick in our house:( I thought earlier this week that Meggie was getting better and then she started coughing and getting more congested. Gabby is also congested and the other morning when I was nursing her, she could hardly drink because she couldn't breathe out of her nose, so sad:( We went to the doctor yesterday for Gabby's 6 month check up (only a month late!!). She is doing great and now weighs 17 lbs 13 oz and is 26 inches long. She continues to be a fantastic little baby!!

Megs and mommy being silly!!

Last Saturday one of my friends called me up and asked if I wanted to go out with a bunch of girls for the evening!! I was totally excited because I haven't been out for a LONG time. We just went to a restaurant and hung out. It was so great to be with friends and just chat. I even stayed out until about 11:30pm and that's late for me!! I definitely need to get out more, I felt like a normal person again. Jeff was so great and stayed home with the girls and he had a friend over to play video games, so he was happy!

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Happy Birthday Jeff!!

Today is Jeff's 29th birthday!! He's finally as old as me. I am so thankful and blessed to have him as my husband. He constantly makes me laugh and smile. He is an incredible daddy to Megan and Gabby. They both adore him!! I love watching Jeff play with our girls. I can't imagine my life with anyone else but him, he completes me. Thank you, Jeff, for who you are. We love you so much.
Meggie, Gabby and I have had colds this week. It's bound to run through the family when you have little kids. I'm currently trying to teach Meggie how to blow her nose. She is doing really good. Gabby had her 6 month shots on Tuesday and she did really well, just a little crying during the shots. She now weighs 18lbs 7oz (with her clothes on). She is eating all her cereals now and squash and carrots and she seems to like them all. Today at lunch I noticed something white in Gabby's mouth, so I went and washed my hands and felt in her mouth and she has a tooth!!! I couldn't believe it. Meggie didn't get her first tooth until she was 8 1/2 months old, so I just wasn't expecting it. She's growing up so fast!!
We have been having issues with Megan not listening these days. She is being very defiant. She has starting hitting and pushing Gabby. We're really not quite sure what to do with her sometimes. Also, at bedtime she is freaking out and we just let her cry for a bit and then go in to tuck her back in. She doesn't want anything...she just doesn't want to stay in her bed. Jeff and I have been getting quite frustrated with her lately. And because of her cold she has been waking up at night a lot again. I hope this is just a stage:(

My parents came over on Sunday for a little visit and we decided that Megan needed to have a little haircut. She has never had one before, except I have cut her bangs a few times. She sat very still and behaved really well during the haircut, I was impressed!! My mom used to cut our hair all the time when we were kids. I don't think I had a professional haircut until I was about 18 years old!!
We had some friends and their kids over on Sunday night for dinner. It was really fun and the kids had a blast together. I love watching Megan "play" with her friends now. Of course, dinner is always a busy time with 6 adults and 5 kids!!

Tonight we are ordering some pizza for Jeff's birthday and I have made him his favorite homemade oreo cookies!! Some of our other friends are having us over on Sunday for another birthday dinner. Jeff is getting spoiled...he deserves it!!!

Blessings

We had a great weekend with Loren and Alicia!! It's so weird that they can just come up for the weekend now, as they live so much closer. The time went by really fast...but hopefully they will come back for another visit sometime before Christmas!! We won't be seeing them at Christmas this year because they will be going back to California:(

We went out for a fantastic Greek dinner on Saturday night. The food was really good and, of course, good company!! The girls did really good at the restaurant and it worked out well because we needed the girls to stay up a little later than usual because of the time change! Mom and Jeff got free desserts because we were celebrating their birthdays. Of course, we all enjoyed the desserts together!! After dinner, everyone came over to our house for some birthday cake. My dad was not feeling well and so ended up falling asleep on the couch while the rest of us visited!
Loren and Alicia had a great time hanging out with their newest neice!!
Loren and Alicia came to our church on Sunday morning and then we all had lunch together at mom and dad's, and then they headed home:( It was so great to see them again and the girls had a blast with their aunty and uncle. Alicia and Meggie had so much fun doing summersaults in the living room. I tried one summersault and my neck hurt from it. I remember doing them so much as a kid and it didn't hurt then!!

We went to Derek and Colleen's for dinner on Sunday night and Megan had so much fun playing "dress up" with aunty Colleen. Her hair looks a little scary in this picture...she desperately needs a haircut! Thanks so much guys for the great dinner and visit!

On Monday, I decided to rake the leaves in the backyard because it was a beautiful sunny afternoon. I felt completely fine while raking...but that night while trying to sleep my back was SO sore!!! In the morning, I felt okay and went for a walk with the girls to a friends house. But, yesterday morning I woke up and could barely get out of bed!! My back hurt SO bad. I had a hard time getting Gabby out of her crib to nurse her:( I called my mom and she came over for the whole day...she did everything for me. She vacuumed, cleaned out closets, emptied the dishwasher, etc. I went to the chiropractor in the morning and he said my back was in spasms and I had a pinched nerve! Today I woke up and my back feels so much better, not 100%, but definitely better. I will got back to the chiropractor again today. Thank you so much mom for all you help! I appreciate you so much. I love you!

Yesterday evening, Jeff was out doing some electrical work for our friends...the worst day for this to happen! Oh well. My friend Colleen was coming over for dinner anyways because Derek was out of town. I felt so bad because I couldn't even make dinner for her:( She still came over and brought us dinner!! What a great friend she is. Thanks so much Colleen for that. She also helped look after and bath the girls with me. I am truly blessed by the wonderful people in my life!

Gabby is eating her food so good these days! I have started her on squash this week and she seems to like it, although she prefers her cereals!! I have noticied her nursing for shorter times now because she is eating other things. She probably likes the variety! She is such a happy and joyful baby...I really love this age right now.

We have a really busy weekend coming up, just lots of visiting and hanging out with friends! I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully my back is better for the weekend:)

Halloween Fun

We have had a fun week! For Halloween the girls got all dressed up...Megan as a monkey and Gabby as Piglet and we headed out for some candy! We just went around our cul-de-sac which has about 10 houses and that was the perfect amount for Megan. She was so thrilled to get all the treats from the neighbours. She was especially excited about getting chips!! It was so cute when she went trick or treating because she would say "trick or treat" after ringing the doorbell, but before anyone came to the door. She didn't totally get it:) But, she had so much fun and asked to go trick or treating when she woke up the next morning...it's hard trying to explain to a 2 year old that this only happens once a year!!
Check out all the candy!! Megan shares her treats with mommy and daddy!!

And here for all you Dora fans!! Jeff carved this pumpkin on Tuesday night with Meggie's "help". He did a fantastic job!! It took him about 1 1/2 hours to get it all done. What a great daddy he is!!

We managed to get out to the park this morning with some friends! It was a little chilly, about 3 degrees. I had the girls all bundled up and we all stayed warm. Megan is sporting her new winter jacket that she got from Ama and Papa dog. It's so cute and it fits her great!!

The other morning I put Gabby into bed with Meggie and she loved it! They just lied in bed and "talked" to each other. It was so cute!! I love watching them interact together and they just adore each other...for now!

I am so looking forward to this weekend because my brother and sister-in-law are coming up for a visit! We haven't seen them since last Christmas...far too long:( And they haven't met Gabby yet, so that will be fun!! We are going out to a Greek restaurant on Saturday night to celebrate my mom and Jeff's birthdays!! So fun!!
