Fun with Bubbles

Today Jeff bought Megan some bubbles to play with outside. She totally loved them! It was really cute watching her try to catch them. We played outside today for quite a while because it was SO beautiful. The sun was shining and it was really warm. I just love springtime!!

Earlier this week, Derek and Colleen came over to help us cut down some trees in our backyard. We got them a chainsaw for their wedding and Derek loves to use it. He cut down our large cherry tree and a plum tree. The yard feels so much bigger now. Megan was very interested in the whole process and she wasn't scared of the loud chainsaw. Then Jeff had to chop the tree branches into smaller pieces and put them in the truck and haul them to the dump. Megan wanted to be outside with daddy when he was cutting the branches. She mostly stayed in the cab of the truck and just played around in there.

Wednesday was my last day of work in the office. It was a good day, but it doesn't feel like I am really done yet. I am still working from home for as long as posssible and then hopefully I can start up again a few months after the baby comes. On Thursday night, my boss took all the staff out for dinner to Yama's Greek Restaurant. It was really good and I ate way too much. Sometimes I don't realize my stomach is smaller these days. I didn't feel really good that night though, I had really bad heartburn and had trouble getting to sleep. I guess while I was out for dinner, Megan was a little troublemaker for Jeff. She cried for me for more than an hour. She usually loves her time with her daddy, so I don't know what was up. She has been a little sick and out of sorts this week, so maybe she just didn't feel well.

I was at the doctor's office again this week and my doctor said everything looks good and I am starting to dilate. I can't believe this is happening so soon!! I am starting to get more excited and anxious now. I am still not sleeping well, but I guess that I'm being prepared for when the baby comes!!

Bye for now!!

A little hospital visit

Since my last post, lots of things have happened!! Jeff and I went for my ultrasound on Friday to see if the baby was breeched again. We had the ultrasound done at the hospital and we had a technician in training, well he was very nice, but it took FOREVER!!! My back was killing me by the end of the appointment. He started doing the ultrasound at about 11:30am and we got home about 2:00pm. I had not brought lunch for Megan and Jeff had to go back to work. We were quite frustrated about this. The technician did like a hundred pictures of the baby, but in the first 2 minutes he told me the baby was not breeched!! I was very excited about this. Then the real technician came in and did all the measurements and pictures over again. I don't know why this all had to be done, but I guess it's standard procedure. The baby is measuring a little small right now, the technician thought about 5lbs 12oz. But, I still have 3 weeks to go!

Then, this morning I went to the bathroom and I thought maybe my water broke! I am only 37 weeks now. I was in a little bit of shock!! There wasn't much fluid and I wasn't sure what it was. We went to the walk in clinic this morning because Megan has a fever and is not feeling well, I thought I would get checked out too. Well the doctor at the clinic could not do much for me, he sent me to the hospital. At the hospital, the doctor did a swab and some tests and everything came back negative for amniotic fluid and my cervix was still closed. That was good news, because I would like the baby to grow a little bit more. Megan could not stay with us at the hospital because it is RSV season, so mom and dad came and got her and took her to their house. She was happy to see them!!

Also, Megan is not feeling well and is VERY cuddly. She just wants to be held all the time. I do like when she is cuddly but not when she is sick. Her fever was quite high last night and we gave her some Tylenol and today she doesn't have a fever. She does not have much of an appetite and is not herself. We though maybe she had an ear infection, because her balance a little off this morning, but the doctor at the clinic said she looks fine. I will see how she is in the next couple of days and if she gets worse I will take her in again.

3 weeks and counting

We took Megan to the park this past weekend. She totally loves it! The playground is pretty good for kids her age and she can go on the slide by herself. Although, she prefers that we go with her. She gets pretty upset when we leave. We have been to the park 3 times in the last week and now I think she is getting used to it. She is a little scared of the swings these days. She only stays in the swing for about a minute and then she says "all done". She used to love the swings, so maybe she got scared one time.

I can hardly believe this baby is due in three weeks!! This pregnancy has gone by SO fast. Although, I am getting more uncomfortable these days and I look forward to that being over. Jeff took some pregnancy pictures of me the other day and some of them turned out.

I was at the doctor again today and my doctor could not tell if the baby was breech again or not. She felt around my belly for quite awhile and was still unsure - so she is sending me for an ultrasound tomorrow. I really hope that it is head down at this point. She said the baby is probably a little under 7 lbs right now and she said that is good if they have to try and turn the baby because it still has some room. I just trust God that everything will work out! It will be neat to see the baby at the ultrasound because now it is so much bigger than last time.

We have been taking care of Jeff's parents dog while they are away and Megan is totally obsessed with her. Megan never leaves her alone and she always wants to give her hugs, of course Molly is not a big fan of that. Megan even wakes up from her naps calling for Molly. I'm sure Molly will be relieved to go home after this week!

I will try to post again really soon to let you all know how the ultrasound goes. Bye for now!

Update

Well, just a quick update. I went to the doctor last week and the baby turned!!! I was so excited. Now I don't have to go the specialist or anything, which I am happy about. My doctor felt the baby for a long time and said it was hard to tell the bum from the head sometimes. But she was pretty sure the head was down now. I only have 5 weeks to go. I can hardly believe it. This pregnancy has gone by SO fast!

Today I worked for my second last time in the office. I will work one more day at the end of the month. The girls at work are having a good-bye dinner for me after my last day. It should be fun!!

Lately I have been sleeping terribly because of the pregnancy. I just can not get comfortable and move around all night. I'm sure I wake Jeff up regularly - though he hasn't seemed to notice it! It also takes me so long to roll over in bed and I sleep with at least 3 pillows already. Oh well, I know this uncomfortableness(?) will not last, but I guess my body is getting ready to be awakened during the night again :(

That's all for now!! I'm off to bed now.

Birthday Weekend

This weekend Jeff's brother, Eric came home for the weekend to celebrate his birthday! We had lots of family time this weekend. We even were out two nights this weekend without Megan. My mom watched her on Saturday night and Jeff's parents watched her on Sunday night. It was kind of weird being away from her for two nights in a row! But it was nice.

On Saturday night we had a dinner for Eric at Jeff's parents house and then we played poker. On Sunday night a few friends and us went out for dinner to a new restaurant in town called Memphis Blues. I didn't eat much because I was full from snacking in the afternoon, but there was lots of food and mostly meat. And we saw a "famous person" at the restaurant...Tony Parsons from GlobalTV. I spotted him first and Jeff tried to get a picture of him by putting the camera under his arm, so Tony wouldn't notice him taking the picture. The picture didn't turn out to good, because Jeff didn't use the flash!!

I went to the doctor again last week and the baby is still breech. I have to go to the doctor again this week to check the baby again. If the baby is still breeched this week then my doctor will send me for an ultrasound to make sure. So we are still praying that the baby turns on its own. I have been having quite a bit of trouble sleeping these days. I seem to get cramps in my legs and I constantly turn from side to side. I know I wake up Jeff a lot, but I am so uncomfortable. Other than that I am feeling pretty good for being 8 months pregnant!!

Megan has been loving the bath lately. Now she wants to lie on her tummy and kick her legs and blow bubbles. She has been learning from swimming lessons I guess. We finished her swimming lessons now and I don't think we will go again until after the baby is born. I am just getting too big to lift her!!

Last weekend we had our friends over for a visit. We hadn't seen them in so long!! It was so great to catch up with them again. Their daughter is 3 years old now and Annette and I are both pregnant and due just 2 weeks apart from each other. Megan and Haylie played so nicely together and Megan still talks about her. It's too bad they don't live closer so we could see them more.

Well that's all for now!
