Uncle's visit

We have been enjoying hanging out with Uncle Curt this week! Megan is loving having Uncle here. She goes down to his bedroom every morning to wake him up and she asks for Uncle Curt first thing in the morning. She is going to be so sad when he goes back to Winnipeg:( The girls love it when Uncle plays guitar for them!

Gabby is adjusting well to Molly staying with us and now she actually likes the dog. Molly seems to be getting a little tired of the girls...like when Gabby pulls her fur and her tail! Molly has been spending quite a bit of time in the backyard, which I think she enjoys.Last Saturday we celebrated Jassie's birthday, with dinner and dessert. Megan always has so much fun with aunty Jas. Megan was enjoying some of aunties smoothie drink!The weather has been so nice this week and I have managed to get out for a couple of walks. Jeff and I and the girls went one day and my mom and I and the girls went another day. Megan and Gabby are loving the double stroller where they sit beside each other!It was so cute the other day in the stroller when Megs put her arm around Gabby.
We stopped by Derek and Colleen's place this week to check out the addition on their house. It looks great! Jeff did some electrical work there and the girls and I hung out with Colleen and Sarah. Sarah is getting bigger and bigger all the time. Megan wanted to hold Sarah and she was SO happy!!And the girls liked to play on the piano!!
Yesterday, Megan was outside playing for about 2 hours and our little neighbour girl came over to play for a bit too. It has been so nice to have some Spring like weather! I love the sunshine. Gabby loves the swing on the deck!!

I had a great talk with my brother this week! It had been a while since we last chatted and it was so nice. I love that Loren and I can talk for so long and it's so comfortable, even when some time has passed, it doesn't feel like it. So, thank you Loren for who you are, you are such a blessing to me! We can't wait to see you and Alicia again, we miss you guys lots.

Tonight, Jeff is going out for a poker night and my mom is coming over here to watch a girly movie with me! I'm excited because I can't remember the last time I watched a girly movie:) Should be fun...

Party Time

We are all feeling better now and have had a good week! The girls still have a little bit of a runny nose, but they are on the mend. Thankfully, Jeff and I did not get sick this time around:) Today is my parents 38th wedding anniversary...yes on Valentine's Day!! Congratulations mom and dad...we love you so much!

One of Megan's little friends had his 3rd birthday party last Saturday. The kids had so much fun at the party, eating pizza and birthday cake! Megan and Gabby are the only girls, because they pretty much only have boy friends! She really loves pizza!!!

Jeff and Megan enjoyed playing some games together, but she was just more interested in watching everything around her. At the party, Meggie won some "tickets" and she "bought" a tattoo with them. It's of a butterfly and she is very proud of it. She doesn't like us to wash her arm during bathtime, because she is protecting her butterfly!

Jeff's parents are leaving tonight for Indonesia...they are going on a three week holiday with some friends of theirs. They are staying in a bungalow right on their own beach! I really would love to be somewhere hot right now too:( We are going to miss them. We are taking care of their dog for a part of the time that they are gone. It should be interesting because Gabby is terrified of the dog!!! I think she will get used to Molly being around and hopefully by the end of Molly's stay, Gabby will love her.

We had Gabby's first set of swimming lessons this week. We go on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She absolutely loves it!! She is a real water baby. I dunked her under the water on the first day and she was totally fine with it. Today I dunked her again and she came out of the water smiling! Even when the water is cold she just laughs and smiles the whole time...I just love it. My mom and Meggie came in the pool with us today too and Megan did not want to leave. She is much more hesitant than Gabby, but still loves to be in the water.

Gabby is pulling herself up on everything these days! She does not move around furniture yet, but she is close. She is very busy and gets into everything. I really have to watch her:) I don't think walking is too far away...I'm a little worried!

The other day Megan was in her room having "quiet time" and looking at books on her bed. A little while later, Jeff and I were talking about how quiet it was and I went to check on her and this is what I found...

She had taken her skirt off and fell asleep with all her books!

Jeff completed the storage room this week and Meggie helped him pull off the tape around the baseboards.

I am signed up for this year's summer soccer season. I'm really excited to play again! The last time I played was the year between having Megan and Gabby. So I am totally out of shape:( I am playing with a bunch of my friends and it should be lots of fun. I can't wait to sign Meggie up for soccer too. I think I can do that when she turns 3...this summer!

Jeff's brother, Curt, is coming home this weekend for his reading break. His parents will be gone on their holiday, so he will probably stay with us some of the time. Megan has already been asking when Uncle is coming home from Winnipeg!

This and That

Gabby has been a little sick this week:( It started with a runny nose on Monday. The poor little thing has trouble breathing because her nose is so stuffed up. When I nurse her, she struggles so hard to breathe. And then last night Meggie woke up in the night and said her nose was snotty. I just knew that this would go around. Gabby also has been waking in the night because she is so uncomfortable and so the other night I put a pillow under her mattress and it totally helped and she's been sleeping better!Meggie and I picked my parents up from the airport on Sunday. Megan was SO excited to see all the airplanes! My parents flight was a little late and so we got to watch 3 planes take off and 3 come in. Now she asks when she can go on an airplane! My parents said they had a great time and really hot weather. They brought Meggie and Gabs each a T-shirt and Meggie a little bag. She stuffs all her toys in it and calls it her diaper bag. So cute!I just love this picture of Meggie!!

On Sunday afternoon, we went for a walk on the greenway with Derek, Colleen and baby Sarah. It was so nice to get out in the fresh air. It was still a little cold, but refreshing. Then after the walk they came over and we had pizza and birthday dessert for Colleen. It was Sarah's first time over to our house. She pretty much slept the whole time, but I had to hold her for a bit...I just couldn't resist. She is so tiny and cute! I am so looking forward to our girls growing up together.The bump under Dereks' jacket is baby Sarah!!

Last night I went out for dinner with a few girls I used to work with. It was so fun to get together again and it felt like old times! It's nice to get out once in a while, even if it's only for a few hours. I had to be back home at 7pm to nurse Gabby. Jeff did great with the girls and fed them both dinner and then played. I walked in the door and I heard Gabby crying and I said "oh no, has she been like this all night" and Jeff said "no, she just started crying when you walked in". It was so cute because she just wanted to see me. She crawled over to me and just wanted a hug!! I loved it.

Megan made a special craft at church a few weeks ago. They planted beans in a container and then decorated the container. Well, we have been faithfully watering the beans and now they have started to grow. Every day Megan wants to look at her beans. I don't know what we are going to do with them, but it's fun to see her excitement!
Jeff has been working so hard on my scrapbooking/storage room lately. He painted the rest of the walls and put in laminate flooring and new baseboards. The room looks awesome...it's probably the nicest room in the house now and it's only a storage room! Megan and I have spent a lot of time in their this week doing crafts and coloring, etc. I managed to get some more scrapbooking done and I'm really enjoying it!
