Camping in Osoyoos

A few weeks ago, we headed out to Osoyoos with 3 other families for 5 days of camping! We went to the same campground last year and it worked well with our kids. The lake is very warm and we can all camp close together!

We drove down on Wednesday morning and set up camp when we got there. The weather was hot, hot, hot again, but not quite as hot as last year at close to 40 degrees. We went to the beach after we set up camp. The kids loved playing in the water and at the beach.

Every night a different family would do dinner. It works out really well because we feed the kids first and then put them to bed and then the adults have dinner and uninterrupted conversation after that! The boys would usually go waterskiing before the adults had dinner.

Jeff brought his bikes along and he went for several rides while we were there. He would go first thing in the morning before it got too hot. The 4 ladies went for pedicures one morning in Osoyoos and the men stayed at the campground with all the kids...it was wonderful!!

Jeff slept in the tent with Megan and I slept in the camper with Gabby and Marty. It worked out really well. The kids took a little longer than usual to fall asleep, but they all slept great during the night. Marty napped really well too, I think he was tired from being outside all day and going to bed later.

We played at the beach every day and we enjoyed floating on our friends floating island!! It was massive and the kids could play in it.

The last day we were there we all took a boat ride and found a beautiful little beach. It reminded me of the Oregon coast and sand dunes. The sand was beautiful and very hot. The water was so warm and the kids loved swimming around there. It was very relaxing!!

The campground was very dry and our sites were dusty and covered in fine dirt. The kids thought that was great for playing with. But, everything was covered in dirt by the time we went home. After 5 days, I was ready to come home and feel clean again!! Next year, we might try some other campground with a little more grass and less dirt.

On the way home we all stopped at Tickleberrys for Ice cream. We stopped at just the right time because shortly after we got there, there was a huge line up.

We had great little vacation with some great friends!!

Looks like so much fun!!! Glad you got some great weather.
If you're looking for somewhere with less dirt and more grass, head across the line and go to Washington State Park in Oroville (my blog has pictures). it's very grassy, lush and a HUGE beach compared to nk'mip :)

I remember when we were the kids and our families all met in Oliver at Tuc-el-nuit lake. Nice to see the traditions continue.
